What is the Difference Between Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles?
As the name suggests, a PHEV is able to derive power from an outside source while a conventional hybrid vehicle relies on the gasoline engine. In a hybrid vehicle you will find a traditional combustion engine and an electric motor. These two components work together to provide improved fuel efficiency for a 655 miles of combined range. A PHEV has a larger battery that is able to be charged, this allows drivers to have longer all electric ranges with an estimated 32 miles.
